PRODUCT DATA of AA7175-T736
MaterialAA7175-T736
General Information7175 is a high strength, heat treatable, forging alloy. It has an excellent combination of toughness and strength, similar to 7075 alloy except that the 7175 version has superior toughness and tensile strength.
Processing and AssemblySolution heat treated and then artificially overaged (between T73 and T76 (now T74)
Precautionsdata from ASM. Not for design

AgingThis is an age hardenable alloy.
SPECIAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Lessons LearnedIn some cases where the Zn content is at the high end of the composition range, this alloy responds poorly to black anodising.
