PRODUCT DATA of AA5083-H38
MaterialAA5083-H38
General InformationVery good weldability. Very good corrosion resistance to seawater and marine atmosphere. High strength alloy with a strength slightly higher than 5086. High fatigue strength. Good cold and stretch formability in soft temper in relation to strength. Difficult to extrude in thin or complex sections. Can be produced in thick plates without internal stress.
Processing and AssemblyStrain hardened and stabilized to a fully hard condition
PrecautionsThe alloy is prohibited for continuous service at temperatures above 66°C because of accelerated aging at elevated temperatures which may increase the susceptibility of the alloy to stress corrosion cracking
